History
O-M Ltd. was established in 1949 to manufacture spinning machines.
Over the years the company has undergone many changes that affected how its business was conducted.
Since 1960, the company has been a leading producer of industrial machine tools and automatic packaging machines.
The machines produced by O-M Ltd. are generally used in industrial production facilities managed according to production orders, although they can be customized for a variety of flexible applications depending on the industry or type of item to be produced.
O-M Ltd. aims to continue supplying quality machines and foster the trust and technical expertise that we have accumulated with our satisfied users over the half century we have been in business.
1906 | The Nagaoka Ironworks Association is set up in Nagaoka-shi, Niigata to start the manufacture of petroleum well drilling machines. |
1913 | The Nagaoka Ironworks Association is reorganized to Nagaoka Ironworks Co., Ltd. |
1920 | Osaka Kikai Seisakusho Co., Ltd. is founded in Nishi-ku, Osaka-shi to start the manufacture of machine tools and press forging machines. |
1923 | Osaka Kikai Seisakusho Co., Ltd. opens its Osaka Factory in Nishiyodogawa-ku, Osaka-shi. |
1934 | Izumo Weaving Co., Ltd. (later Daiwabo Co., Ltd.) opens its Shinji Factory in Shinji-cho, Shimane. |
1936 | Osaka Kikai Seisakusho Co., Ltd. merges with Nagaoka ironworks Co., Ltd. |
1937 | Osaka Kikai Seisakusho Co., Ltd. starts the manufacture of vertical lathes. |
1949 | Daiwabo Co., Ltd. spins off its Shinji Factory to establish Daiwa Machinery Industry Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Higashi-ku, Osaka). |
1950 | Daiwa Machinery Industry Co., Ltd. is merged and renamed to O-M Boki Seisakusho Co., Ltd. |
1951 | O-M Boki Seisakusho Co., Ltd. relocates its head office to Nishiyodogawa-ku, Osaka. |
1952 | O-M Boki Seisakusho Co., Ltd. is listed on the First Section of the Osaka Securities Exchange. |
1955 | O-M Boki Seisakusho Co., Ltd. relocates its head office to Kita-ku, Osaka. |
1956 | Osaka Kikai Seisakusho Co., Ltd. starts the manufacture of automatic packaging machines. |
1960 | O-M Boki Seisakusho Co., Ltd. merges with Osaka Kikai Seisakusho Co., Ltd. and is renamed to O-M LTD. (headquartered in Kita-ku, Osaka). |
1965 | The Osaka Factory is relocated to Minoo-shi, Osaka from Nishiyodogawa-ku, Osaka-shi. |
1971 | Listed on the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange. |
1991 | The head office is relocated to Yodogawa-ku, Osaka-shi. |
2001 | The Osaka Factory is consolidated to the Shinji Factory. |
2004 | O-M (U.S.A.), Inc. is established in the United States. |
2007 | The Shanghai representative office is established in China. |
2011 | O-M Ltd. becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of Daiwabo Holdings Co., Ltd. through an exchange of shares. |
2012 | Establish O-M Shanghai Co. Ltd. in China. |
2014 | Establish O-M MACHINERY Ltd., separating Automatic Machinery Division. |
2015 | O-M Ltd. established JAPAN MACHINE TOOLS MIDWEST, LLC in the U.S.A. as a sales subsidiary jointly investing with other partners. |
